Whilst we know that Croftcarnoch farmhouse is a lovely place to stay for a holiday it can be difficult to get this across in the mass of holiday houses available to let in Scotland. Summer has truly arrived in the Highlands with the continuation of this heat-wave that has swept the whole of the UK. Whilst we and the guests at Croftcarnoch are loving the heat, it is affecting our neighbours next door at the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, with many of the animals finding the heat too much. Certainly young Hamish, the juvenile polar bear, has been keeping to the back den to keep cool, and if you wish to see them, you will have a better chance on a cooler day.
With the happy news that the first little Polar Bear has been born in the UK for 25 years, it is another reminder how amazing the Highland Wildlife Park is! We take it for granted at Croftcarnoch as they are our neighbours literally as it is their fence up against our field. We hear the wolves and many other animals at night and generally can see the tigers on a daily basis (safely behind bars!)
