Stay-cation, stay safe

With the news that there is a local lock-down in the Gretna and Annan area of Scotland and that it may have been caused by a “Hot Tub Party” – raises a number of issues within the tourism sector in Scotland, especially now that we are in holiday season. At Croftcarnoch the farmhouse is set-up for up to 8 adults that is ideal for a couple of families or a group of friends who wish to holiday together. In effect this will be their “bubble” for the duration.

Whilst many people choose to stay at the farmhouse and enjoy the views and walk in the hills from the house, we appreciate that this is not for everyone. Enjoying a hot tub is popular and whilst we choose not to provide one, anyone wishing to do so can always hire one locally during their stay. For those self-catering providers who do provide hot tubs there may be more legislative issues than their worth and headlines of "Covid-19 Hot Tub Party” will not help – but the hiring of the hot tub option is there for anyone who wishes to do this themselves. Me – I would rather pick wild mushrooms in the woods, but each to their own!

The other thing to bear in mind to keep updated with what is going on locally. Things are opening up and adapting on a daily basis at the moment. The Highlands of Scotland is open again for business and whilst things are different now it can still be enjoyed on holiday. Enjoy your stay-cation and stay safe.
